Wooster, Ohio — Freeman Building Systems proudly announces the appointment of AJ Lammers as its new President, effective Monday, September 16th, 2024. Lammers, a steady and trusted leader within the company, steps into this role with a robust background in engineering, project management, business analytics, leadership, sales, and relationship management.
Founder Dan Freeman expressed his complete trust and confidence in AJ’s leadership.”It’s really hard to turn something over after building it for 32 years until you find someone you trust. I trust AJ. Our values are the same, our mannerisms and thought processes are similar. I’m handing the ball off to the next generation that carries the same values as I do,” Freeman stated. He added, “I look at myself when I was 39 – he’s light years ahead of me at the time. I’ve enjoyed seeing the personal growth of the people that he’s impacted in the company, and I’m looking forward to more of that individual growth under his leadership and his continued successful relationships with our customers.”
Lammers shared his enthusiasm and the gravity of his new role: “This appointment is humbling. Obviously, I’m excited. It’s a huge endorsement and at the same time, I feel the responsibility of carrying on something that has been so successful, especially the people.” He further emphasized the cultural legacy of Freeman Building Systems, noting, “Dan has set an example that it’s not about him, it’s about the people within the company. To take that practice on, I feel a responsibility not just to Dan, but to everyone on the team and our customers.” He continued, “I’ve chosen to be a part of this company because it can be everything that challenges me and gets me excited and at the same time gives me an opportunity to work with and around people. I’m excited to see their growth and engagement and look forward to continuing to support our team as they reach their personal and professional goals. You don’t necessarily get that in other places – this is truly unique. You get to see and invest in the entirety of people’s lives.”
Under AJ’s leadership, the company aims to continue its tradition of excellence and expand opportunities for both its employees and clients in the design/build arena of construction. “My vision for the future is to create an experience for our employees and customers that meets the standard that Dan has set all these years. I look forward to continued growth opportunities for our team and new solutions for our customers. Ultimately, that will create bigger and better things all around,” Lammers elaborated.
As Freeman Building Systems embraces this new chapter, Lammers is excited to work with the entire team and continue to collaborate with Freeman and learn from tenured employees like Craig Sanders, who has been with the company since 2004. His commitment to maintaining and improving the scale of operations at Freeman Building Systems is clear, “Over the last few years we have graduated in scale and there is a lot more opportunity coming our way. I plan to focus on building and removing barriers for the entire team, so we all benefit from this growth.”
